The Best Popcorn Ever

I have been a big fan of popcorn since I was a youngster.  I have eaten more popcorn than any five people I know put together.

When I was in college we used to have a popcorn poppers that you would put oil in the bottom and then popcorn and then plug them in.  They got really hot and it was really important to empty the popper as soon as the popping started to slow down.  I am sure there were a lot of fires caused by these poppers because the got really hot.

The Air popper
The next generation was the air popper.  They are almost like a hair dryer that blows hot air on the popcorn.  When it pops then the hot air takes it out of the heating chamber.  Unique and they worked pretty well.  Some of the designs blow a lot of the unpopped corn out into your bowl.

Microwave Popcorn
Next came Microwave popcorn.  The probllem with microwaving regular popcorn is getting all the popcorn hot.  Microwave heating is normally very uneven.  So the bags come with a section on the bottom that attracts the microwave heat and helps to heat all of the popcorn.   They manufacture them with enough grease to add taste and evenly heat the popcorn.  Usually they use way too much salt for my taste.

I have gone back to the air popper, not any air popper the one shown in the picture.  Why is it the best?  I have tried at least 7 different air poppers.  The problem with most of them is they spit out a lot of unpopped corn.

The solution to too much unpopped corn with most air poppers is to put in the Full amount of popcorn.  They always have a measuring cup built in and if you do not fill it up you will usually get more unpopped corn.

Proctor Silex Popcorn Pumper is the best I have used.

Getting the Dishes Done

I used to have a lot of trouble getting my high school age children to get the dishes done.  I was always up early and often the kids would stay up after me.

I hate getting up to a dirty kitchen.  It was my job to cook and the kids were required to clean the kitchen.

The standard method, I yelled at them, I left threatening notes, I was mad and took away privledges.  It did not work.  I did not like being mad, I did not like staying around the house when the kids were grounded.

So the question was What can I do that won’t bother me that the kids will hate as punishment.

I sat them down and said here is the deal.  If you guys do not get the dishes done before you go to bed then I am going to read that as a statement that you want to talk to me.  I am going to Joyfully get you up at 5 AM or 6 AM at my convenience and we will all do the dishes together.  While we are at it we will do a little vacuuming and picking up also.

This worked for about two weeks.  Then the dishes weren’t done one Saturday Morning.  I got my music turned up loud, I turned on every light in the living room and Kitchen—it is way harder to go back to sleep if you are fully awakened with music and light–I got them out of bed.  I was nice I was smiling  and asking non stop questions.  How is school, how is your girlfriend, how is ….  Anyway I was very nice and loud and they got the dishes done.

About every month or two I would have to get them up but it was no longer a battle for me.  It was easy.

That was one of the biggest child interaction problems solutions.

Tracfone Promotional Codes How to Find and Use Promo Codes

There are a few simple ways for getting Tracfone Promo Codes.
First I have registered my Serial number with Tracfone. When I joined the New Tracfone Insider program. This “Tracfone Insider” plan is a monthly email from Tracfone. This email often will have Tracfone Promotional Codes in it.

Photobucket

My favorite way of finding codes is to check at Tracfone Bonus Codes and Coupons for the latest greatest codes. This page also shows me how to buy Tracfone Minutes and use the bonus codes.

Getting Ready to Add Minutes
First I write down my Tracfone Serial Number (ESN) on a business card and the Tracfone Customer service number (1-800-867-7183). Also my Phone’s number so I can easily find the numbers without having to fumble through the menu on my phone.

How to Use Tracfone Promo Codes.

You can add Airime over a land line. This used to be my preferred way to add Tracfone Promotional Codes but now to get through the Tracfone Customer Service phone system it just takes too long.

Add Airtime Direct from Your Tracfone

With the Digital Tracfones you can add Tacfone units from the Prepaid Menu. Click on Menu, next on Prepaid, Scroll to add airtime and click, on some phones add the 5 digit Tracfone Promo code right after the fifteen digit PIN number from your card and on some phones after you put in the minute card PIN if you have a bonus code.

Adding Minutes from your Computer (My Favorite)
I like to add airtime from my computer. Go to Tracfone.com and click on the add/buy airtime button on the top of the page and Tracfone will walk you through it.

When you are adding minutes online from the Tracfone.com
web site you can try two different bonus numbers. After you have tried twice to put in a bonus code and it hasn’t worked stop, close the browser and start over. You will get two more chances to get a Promo code to work. The third time you try if the Bonus code doesn’t work you will not get the extra promo minutes.
